Baton twirling is making a huge comeback in central California! Be part of the excitement! Baton twirling is an exciting competitive sport as well as an beautiful art. Baton twirling combines dance and gymnastics with the controlled movement of one, two, or three batons. Learning how to twirl the baton helps boys and girls learn confidence, team work, coordination, leadership, determination, and healthy lifestyle habits.

The Five Cities Baton Twirlers started in October of 2010 and serves the cities of Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Pismo Beach, Oceano, and the surrounding areas. Classes are every Monday at the Arroyo Grande City Woman's Center or Strother Park, depending on the season. All Five Cities Twirlers are members of the Amateur Athletic Union. The Five Cities Baton Twirlers strive for an inclusive and diverse environment, where children of all abilities and physical characteristics are treasured, valued, and respected team members. "Learning good sportsmanship, self-mastery, and teamwork is more important than winning. At the Five Cities Twirlers we have two goals: First, develop athletes that have integrity, confidence, and the skills needed to be successful in life. And secondly, to learn to twirl with excellence and win." - Coach Jeanette Searby
